The Justice Conference and Compassion Australia are proud to present ‘Poverty, Exploitation, and the Internet’, a Q&A featuring panellists Rev Tim Costello, Dr Allan Meyer, Melinda Tankard Reist and Danielle Strickland.

The Q&A will explore the connection between exploitation and the internet in the context of extreme poverty and the developing world. It will also examine the implications in Australian culture that fuel these injustices.

Melinda Tankard Reist is an author, speaker, media commentator, blogger and advocate for women and girls. She is best known for her work addressing sexualisation, objectification, the harms of pornography, sexual exploitation, trafficking and violence against women. She is author/editor of four books including Getting Real: Challenging the Sexualisation of Girls. A newspaper columnist, Melinda is a regular guest on morning television. She has also appeared on ABC’s Q&A as well as many other TV and radio programs. Melinda is cofounder of the grassroots campaigning movement, Collective Shout, exposing corporations, advertisers, and marketers who objectify women and sexualise girls to sell products and services.

Melinda is named in the Who’s Who of Australian Women and the World Who’s Who of Women. She is an ambassador for World Vision, Compassion and the Raise Foundation.
