Collective Shout named finalist in 2025 Australian NFP Technology Awards

We’re proud to announce that Collective Shout has been shortlisted as a finalist in the 2025 Australian Not-for-Profit Technology Awards, in the category of Best Use of Data for Community Impact.

This award recognises the innovative use of data by a Not-For-Profit to drive an organisation’s mission and culture, and how this data innovation has improved impact and service delivery.

Our shortlisted project - Removing Tate’s Harmful Content: A Data-Driven Win - is a standout example of what happens when evidence-based activism meets public pressure. In a world where profit-driven platforms too often overlook community wellbeing, we used data to expose and help eliminate content that normalised coercion, abuse, and trafficking.

A Clear Problem, A Strategic Response

Andrew Tate - an influencer with a global audience and a public history of misogyny - was hosting courses on Spotify that glorified the exploitation of women. The courses encouraged coercive control and trafficking behaviours under the guise of “self-help” for men. They also directly violated Spotify’s platform rules.

Our campaign combined real-time analytics, live community engagement tracking, and a dynamic petition platform to build pressure Spotify couldn’t ignore. With over 155,000 signatures in just two weeks, the campaign marked a record engagement level for our organisation.

Data in Action

Every element of this campaign was informed by live data - from social media insights and media monitoring to supporter action rates and petition metrics. Using various platforms we fine-tuned our messaging, escalated pressure strategically, and kept our supporters informed every step of the way.

Impact and Innovation

  • Tate’s trafficking course removed from Spotify and SoundCloud
  • Over one million people reached globally, including major media coverage
  • 40%+ supporter action completion rates through enhanced NationBuilder tools
  • Record-breaking petition response and a 159% increase in impressions across platforms
  • Stronger supporter trust and deeper community engagement through data-backed transparency

“This campaign was about more than removing one man’s content - it was about challenging the systems that allow abuse to be normalised in plain sight. By combining data with grassroots momentum, we proved that when communities speak up and platforms are held accountable, real change is possible”

— Renee Chopping, Campaign Strategy, Collective Shout

Why This Matters

This campaign proved what we’ve always known: as a grassroots movement we can punch above our weight when combining digital tools, community passion, and a culture of data-informed action.

Thank you to Infoxchange for recognising our work, and to every supporter who made this possible. Winners will be announced in May - watch this space!
