This Easter, Falvey’s Hotel Yamanto has decided that the best way to entertain its patrons is with a Playboy themed event—glossing over the reality of sexual exploitation and packaging it as “fun.”

And when challenged? We called Falvey’s out on their Facebook event, only to later discover that our comments were removed and each campaigner had been systematically blocked from their Facebook and Instagram pages. Instead of engaging with valid concerns, Falvey’s chose to hit the mute button, proving that they’d rather silence women than listen to them.
Recently, we exposed Orion Hotel for planning a similar event, and they listened—pulling the event and committing to do better. This is what responsible businesses do. They reflect, they change, and they respect their community. Falvey’s, on the other hand, is doing the opposite. Rather than addressing concerns, they’ve chosen to ignore them, shutting down discussion and pretending the problem doesn’t exist. But we see you, Falvey’s. And so does the public.
By doubling down on this Playboy themed event, Falvey’s is reinforcing the harmful message that women exist for men’s entertainment, all while promoting a major brand of the global porn industry—one with a dark history of sexually exploiting women and girls.
Easter—a time of renewal, family, and community—shouldn’t be hijacked by an event that glorifies an industry built on the commodification of women’s bodies. If Falvey’s genuinely cared about their patrons and their community, they wouldn’t be promoting sexist, outdated, and harmful narratives.
