Last August, we exposed global e-commerce platform Temu selling child sex abuse dolls, torsos and disembodied child doll heads – all marketed for men’s sexual use.
Within a month, the company had pulled the products from sale and barred the search terms “child sex doll” and “girl sex doll”.
We promised we would continue to monitor the platform to ensure they kept child sex abuse dolls off their site.
But now, we’ve made a new discovery on Temu.
How Temu child sex abuse doll sellers evade restrictions
We’ve found a number of listings that appear to be child sex abuse dolls heads, except they are not being advertised as such.
They are marketed under the banner of beauty and health, as mannequin heads for make-up practice, to display jewellery and hats, a head stand for holding wigs – because who wouldn’t love a disembodied replica child head to display their earrings and hats?
Note how these same products were marketed when we exposed Temu last year - not as wig holders or for make up application, but as "male masturbators".
We also note that one listing describes the doll head as being aged 18. Why would it be necessary to include an age – one that apparently confirms the product is technically not a child – on a mannequin head intended for make-up practice?
A customer review on one doll head, advertised as a wig for sale, reads:
The tongue is cute. I can kiss it. It’s wonderful.
According to the review, it would appear the product purchased was not a wig, but a disembodied child-like doll head.
We also note that many sex dolls on Temu are advertised without heads. It appears the doll bodies and heads may be sold separately. Some sex doll owners buy multiple doll heads or doll bodies and rotate them between dolls for the illusion of variety. (See my book Sex Dolls, Robots and Woman Hating: The Case for Resistance for more info.)
If all of that wasn’t suspicious enough, we found one of the supposed “make-up practice” heads sold on Shein where it was clearly advertised as a sex doll head.
It appears Temu sex doll sellers are attempting to get around restrictions on child sex abuse dolls by deliberately mislabelling the products.
Let Temu know what you think!
