Subiaco library presents a free premiere screening of The Mask You Live in, A cutting-edge documentary about the meaning and affects of ‘masculinity’.

Be tough, don’t cry, Must win! How is society’s narrow definition of masculinity affecting boys and young men. Pressured by the media, their peer groups, and even the adults in their lives, our boys confront messages encouraging them to disconnect from their emotions, devalue authentic friendships, objectify women, and resolve conflicts through violence. Are we as a society failing our boys?

Don’t miss the Western Australian premiere of this ground breaking film followed by a panel discussion of experts.

This event if restricted to persons fifteen years and over. The Mask You Live in is rated MA15+ and contains adult themes including references to sex, violence, abuse and some swearing.
