Collective Shout Movement Director Melinda Tankard Reist and Campaigns Manager Caitlin Roper are authors of two new books confronting porn's impact on relationships and the global trade in sex dolls and robots, published by Australia’s leading feminist publisher Spinifex Press.
Melinda Tankard Reist’s seventh book, “He Chose Porn Over Me”: Women Harmed by Men Who Use Porn, shatters the popular myth that p*rn is harmless. The personal accounts of 25 brave women reveal the real-life trauma they experienced at the hands of their habitual porn-consuming partners. This book tells the truth about pornography’s destructive impact.
"He Chose Porn Over Me": Women Harmed by Men Who Use Porn was launched online by author and Emeritus Professor of Journalism at the University of Texas, Robert Jensen, on July 26. Four of the book’s contributors also spoke, along with the author.
Caitlin Roper’s first title, Sex Dolls, Robots and Woman Hating: The Case for Resistance, exposes the trade in lifelike, replica women and girls and the growing number of men choosing their dolls over their wives, even ordering up custom-designed child dolls modelled on real little girls. Caitlin Roper has become a global authority on the trade in female-bodied sex dolls and robots.
Sex Dolls, Robots, and Woman Hating will be released later this month. More information about the books here.
