“The best incest game I have experienced so far”
**Update** Victory! The developer has pulled No Mercy from Steam. Read our statement here.
Warning: Graphic content
No Mercy is a newly released pornographic 3D game developed by Zerat Games and hosted on 12+ gaming platform Steam. In the game, players assume the persona of a man who rapes his female family members, including his mother and his aunt, as punishment for his mother’s infidelity.
The game is promoted as follows (warning, content may be distressing):
WARNING: This is NOT your average love story.
After catching your own mother betraying your father, you uncovered the true nature of women, especially her. But she’s no ordinary housewife: she’s hiding a dark secret that’s haunted her for years.
Now, it’s your turn to uncover it, blackmail her, expose her, and rebuild your family on your terms. Own her.
In this game, you’ll either become every woman’s worst nightmare… or rather: the best dick they'll ever have. Your goal is simple: leave no pussy non-fucked, since that's the only thing they all want. Never take 'no' for an answer.
Fuck your mom, fuck your auntie, and even fuck your friend’s mom. Why not?
Already a fan favorite in the NSFW Game Incest community.
Take what’s yours and show No Mercy.
One porn and gaming site promoting the game uses the tags “big tits”, “family sex”, “forced”, “humiliation” and “Mother-son”. In the content description, the developer advises the game features incest and "unavoidable non-consensual sex", which is more commonly known as rape.
The developer advises users how to simulate virtual gang rapes: “If you want a sharing scene, cover her eyes with blindfold and let Tommy join in.”
Not only does No Mercy feature deeply disturbing pornographic depictions of rape and incest as entertainment, it promotes harmful stereotypes of masculinity based on violence and domination. It reinforces male sexual entitlement to women’s bodies (“take what’s yours…never take ‘no’ for an answer”). It encourages men to “own” and “subdue” women. Rape and humiliation are portrayed as appropriate punishment for disobedient women, and women are framed as secretly desiring rape (“[become] the best dick they ever have…that’s the only thing they all want”).
While the game is marked as 18+, there do not appear to be any obstacles to children being able to access it, or its pornographic trailer. But while kids’ exposure to this content is certainly harmful, its harms do not end there. The promotion of rape and incest – and the narrative that women deserve or desire rape and abuse – perpetuates crimes of violence against women.
In a social context where male violence against women is rife, fuelled by attitudes of contempt for women and entitlement to their bodies, No Mercy puts women and girls at risk. It is an endorsement of rape.
The developer and players either have a sexual interest in rape and incest, or at least, they have no aversion to it. In a porn-saturated world, No Mercy is yet another form of media marketed to young men and boys that serves to fuel entitlement, destroy empathy and promote dominance and abuse.
Take action – get No Mercy off Steam
We’re calling Valve, owner of Steam, to remove No Mercy and commit to no longer hosting games promoting rape and violence against women.
Collective Shout supporter Jeff* reached out to us, and shared an email he wrote to Steam expressing concern over No Mercy:
I am writing to ask what kind of editorial policies you have around what content is allowed on the site. It's a well-known fact that we are living through a period of escalating misogyny where people like Andrew Tate freely talk about sexual violence against women and actually impress some young men. This game feeds directly into that - leaving aside the incest bit… it's about gaslighting and psychological manipulation. That, to me, is clearly harmful and wrong. I'd like to know why you have decided to allow a game like this on your platform? It seems to me that this goes beyond what can reasonably be classed as freedom of sexual expression.
Back in 2019, Valve pulled rape game Rape Day, a game where users take on the role of a sociopath who rapes women during a zombie apocalypse. We hope they will do it again.
