Solidarity with Coralie Alison as Tyler the Creator fans send death threats

US rapper Tyler the Creator has announced that he has been banned from Australia. This is yet to be confirmed by the Department of Immigration, but that hasn't stopped Tyler the Creator's fans from unleashing their rage.

In a statement of solidarity, End Online Misogyny has published a sample of the abuse that Collective Shout's Coralie Alison has received over the last few hours.

*content warning* This is not an easy read. This is what happens when women speak out against misogyny and this is why we need you to stand with us.

I want to relay a point on Tyler’s behalf. Why was she even there? Apparently this Coralie woman was at his show and before the doors opened she was harassing fans and shouting abrasive remarks at them. She then apparently caused a scene in the middle of the performance with another fan and recorded Tyler, not objectifying her and singling her out, but him telling her that what she was doing was fucked up and that what she was doing and saying was making her look like a bitch. So Coralie’s protectors, why was she there? If you hate Tyler so much then don’t go to his show. All you wanted to do was set him up to look like he hates women. If anyone is giving women a bad name it’s you all. A bunch of liars and con artists. You all should be ashamed of yourselves, fighting for a cause is not building your evidence of injustice around lies.

bzman “drink bleach and die slut” is not criticism, it is abuse. There is nothing wrong with criticism, debate and discussion but threatening to hunt someone down and attack them is neither of those.

Sorry Ross, what is it you think Coralie did that was wrong?

“pissed off a whole audience base” – well that would seem evident, sure.

“for NO reason” – Ross do you want to do some reading about the issue before you comment here again? I don’t think someone would bother writing a letter to immigration for NO reason.

I don’t agree with everything Tyler says but This is ridiculous. He/They don’t hate women. They hate you guys and are making fun of you because of your claims. Tyler gives no fucks because he doesn’t actually “glorify the objectification of women”. Feminists get a bad name because of stuff like this. It did absolutely nothing except get him banned. Why don’t you try to talk to him or make actual points instead of claiming everyone that commented hates women. Lame.
