Caught selling Playboy necklaces to 10 year old girls

Last year, Diva, the jewellery and accessories store popular with teenage girls, began selling Playboy branded jewellery. Amid public outcry, we began a campaign calling on Diva to remove Playboy items from sale. This included our change.org petition that received a total of 8,428 signatures in a matter of weeks, personally delivered to Diva stores around the country.

Dear Diva, Bin the Bunny

Adolescent/child psychotherapist Collett Smart delivered Collective Shout's change.org petition to the Pitt Street Mall Diva store on the 29th October.

This weekend, I and a group of people (and a disgruntled bunny named Myxi Matosis) planned to descend upon various Diva stores around the country, with a hard copy of a petition, holding 6000+ names of people requesting that Diva remove 'Playboy' merchandise from being sold to minors in their stores.

We summarise the response received from Adairs and Bras N Things following complaints about Playboy merchandise

"I sincerely apologise for any offence we may have caused you, this of course was never our intention."

It is not about an individual's feelings on the matter, but about the nature of what Adairs is promoting. Playboy is a brand of pornography.

"At Adairs we pride ourselves in creating furnishing options to appeal to all of our customers. We chose our new Mansion collection to cater for our customer who is looking for something a little more fun and glamorous."
