Our campaign won in less than two hours
This morning we posted these sexist stubby holders emblazoned with images of topless women which appear to promote Jervis Bay, after concerned community members in Nowra NSW found them at Boss Outdoor in South Nowra.
When parents complained that the products were disrespectful to women and inappropriate for children in the store with their mum or dad, the manager said the stubby holders would be moved to a more suitable spot. The parents replied that the only appropriate spot was in the bin. We agreed with them!
We asked if Boss Outdoor had missed the memo that sexism harms all women and girls. We pointed out it gives boys false ideas about what women exist for. Shuffling them around in different parts of the store makes no difference. In the midst of a national outcry about the mistreatment of women, we called on Boss Outdoor to do better.
We are pleased to report that less than two hours into our campaign, with many supporters taking rapid action, Boss Outdoor confirmed that the items have been removed from shelves.
This marks our 15th win of 2024. We couldn’t do it without you!
